Happy Birthday, Lennie James!

We have another The Walking Dead family birthday today! Lennie James who portrays Morgan Jones is turning 52!

Born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England, UK, Lennie is an accomplished screenwriter, playwright and actor. He has appeared in 20+ films which have included Snatch, Les Miserables, Colombiana, Lockout and most recently, Blade Runner 2049.

Some of his television work includes Buried, Jericho, The Prisoner, Low Winter Sun, Critical and of course, The Walking Dead.

Lennie was cast to guest star as Morgan Jones in The Walking Dead’s pilot episode which made its premiere on October 31, 2010. After that, Morgan was MIA with his son Duane for a few seasons. Rick Grimes comes across him again along with Michonne and his son Carl in the third season episode entitled “Clear.” We find out in that episode that Duane died at the hands of his walker mother which sent Morgan’s mental stability into a downward spiral. After Rick leaves him behind, we don’t see or hear from Morgan again until premiere episode of season 5, “No Sanctuary” and then in the mid season finale “Coda” when he makes it to Father Gabriel’s church and finds Abraham’s map that had been left behind with the message, “Sorry, I was an a******. Come to Washington. The new world’s gonna need Rick Grimes.”

Happy Birthday, Lennie James!

Lennie returned in the  season 5 finale after saving Daryl and Aaron from the trap left by the Wolves. Since season 6, he has remained a main cast member and continues to be a fan favorite.

Lennie currently lives with his wife in Los Angeles. The couple have three daughters together; Romy and Celine and Georgia who are twins.

Join us in wishing Lennie James a very happy birthday.
