‘The X-Files’ Season 11 First Look: What’s Happened to Scully?
The first look at season 11 of The X-Files fails to remotely answer any of our questions following last season’s alarming cliff-hanger.
We last saw Scully (Gillian Anderson) rushing to Mulder’s (David Duchovny) side in an attempt to cure him from an unknown alien virus. However, the newly released first promo pic from the upcoming season sees that Scully is the one in danger of losing her life.

Series creator Chris Carter has promised fans that he had the reversal planned before production on the cliff-hanger took place.
“Obviously something unexpected has happened,” he teased to EW. “Everything is by design.”
The first episode will reportedly explore Cigarette Smoking Man’s (William B Davis) mysterious backstory, with Carter further hinting that the beginning of the second episode will also feature a time jump.
Season 11 will additionally delve into the shocking alliance between Agent Reyes (Annabeth Gish) and the Cigarette Smoking Man.
“Familiar alliances are rattled,” Carter adds.

Lauren Ambrose and Robbie Amell will reprise their roles as young FBI agents Einstein and Miller, alongside newcomer Barbara Hershey who will portray Erika Price, a powerful representative from an organisation that isn’t all that it seems.
The X-Files will return in early 2018.
