Stephen Amell Ranked All of His Favorite Seasons of ‘Arrow’ Leaving One Season Off the List

Last weekend during Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey, Stephen Amell took to the stage for his panel on Sunday afternoon.  His panel consisted of a light-hearted Q&A with the panel moderator followed by a slew of fan questions from the audience.

One young audience member asked him a seemingly innocent question, however, Amell’s answer might get him into a bit of trouble with the folks over at Arrow.  The young fan asked Amell, “what was your favorite season out of all 5 seasons?’  Amell answered:

“Season 1, for sure,” before taking his answer a few steps further.  He continued, “And then season 5.  And then season 2. And then season 3. And that’s it.”

He followed up his answer by saying, “Oh, that’s going to get me in trouble.”

The crowd immediately noticed that one of the seasons was missing from his rankings and they began to laugh.  Season 4 of Arrow is widely known as the least favorite season among fans and, apparently, Amell feels the same way.

Season 4 saw Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak looking for that “happily ever after” fairytale ending.  That ever after was interrupted when Damian Darhk came into the picture.  Darhk ultimately delivered one of the most tragic twists we’ve seen to date on the series by killing Laurel Lance.  After Queen and the citizens of Star City defeated Darhk, we also saw Queen run for Mayor (and win).  Overall, the season was a break of form for the series earning it a low approval rating from fans.

Amell, who clearly knows this, seems to side with fans but, that’s ok.  Season 5 saw a step back towards the original Arrow form and, looking ahead to season 6, we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Check out the synopsis for season 6 of Arrow below for an idea of what’s ahead for Team Arrow:

“After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”
