Nielsen Social Ratings: September 11 – September 17

Another week, another set of Nielsen Social Ratings!

Taking the top spot with close to 6 million interactions was CBS’ 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. Despite reports of lower ratings, the award show had social media chattering about everything from big wins for Lena Waithe and Donald Glover to the mixed reaction of a certain former White House Press Secretary’s appearance.

The Hand in Hand fundraising special took the number two spot, with 803,000 interactions and raising 55 million dollars for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Elsewhere on the top 10, Teen Wolf‘s final season continues as the show lands the number nine spot with 254, 000 interactions. Big Brother took the number three and four spots.

As a refresher: the Content Ratings use the total number of social interactions across Facebook and Twitter to rank the top 10 series/specials and sporting events, separately. The chart includes uniques, which are “unique social media accounts that have authored original content related to a linear TV episode or engaged with that content,” and interactions, which are “original social media posts related to a linear TV episode and the engagement with that content.”
