Rachel McAdams Definitely Wants to see Mean Girls the Musical

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been personally victimized by Regina George

When it comes to movies that reflect high school, and the ‘clique hierarchy’ – none show the social ladder climb (and fall) the way that Mean Girls does. The film is a definite show of what it can mean to be in a clique, how quickly you can be replaced, and how the inner circle of some girl friends is seeded with jealousy and the need to be number one.

So, it’s not unlikely that you or your own friends watched the film and related to it, or knew girls that did. For those of you who haven’t hit high school yet, don’t fret, not everyone is a Regina George in sheep’s clothing, but they definitely exist.

When Mean Girls was first released, it’s hard to know if the weight of the impact of the film was truly anticipated, but now, it’s a cult classic in its own right and some recently released news made fans, and some of the cast members, feel quite nostalgic and excited.

Mean Girls is being turned into a musical by none other than Tina Fey herself and she worked with her husband, Jeff (a composer) on the project. Undoubtedly, it’ll be a smash.

Rachel McAdams was asked about the film being turned into a musical at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday and her response was everything we hoped for. She’s totally on board with the film being turned into a musical and she wants to see it as bad as we all do.

I really hope I get an invitation, yeah. I would love to see it. I’m so, so curious about it.

If we had to guess, we’d say McAdams has a special invitation and probably a front row seat for the play’s debut, we mean, how could she not?

If you’re as thrilled about the news as we all are, don’t forget to get your tickets to the Mean Girls musical opening April 8th of 2018, and remember, Regina knows you’re totally just going because you’re obsessed with her.
