As we all know eventually every movie or TV show that we’ve either grown up with or enjoy right now will probably get a reboot. Such is the case with beloved 80’s show, The Greatest American Hero.
The Greatest American Hero was a spoof of superhero shows, in which, Ralph Hinkley, played by William Katt, runs into aliens while on a field trip. They give him a superpowered suit, but he loses the instruction manual and has to figure out how the suit works so that he could use it to fight crime. The show also starred Robert Culp, Connie Selleca and Michael Pare.
According to Deadline, the show is in development at ABC and will feature a number of concept changes that will update the show for a new generation. The show will focus on a female lead named Meera, who is a thirty-something Indian-American slacker from Cleveland. The pilot is being written by Rachna Fruchbom who has worked on Parks and Recereation and Fresh off the Boat.
This is also not the first time the show has been up for a reboot. In 2014 a movie of the show was in talks with Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and again in 2015, Fox looked into rebooting it for the network. There is no news on if and when filming or casting for the show will start.
