Cast of ‘Halloweentown’ is Reuniting to Honor Debbie Reynolds

Halloweentown is probably one of the best Halloween movies around, but did you know that you can visit the magical town?

Every year, in St. Helens, Oregon, “The Spirit of Halloweentown” is erected in the town square. The area is decorated as if it was taken straight out of the movie, complete with a giant jack-o-lantern. The only thing missing is the monsters and magic.

This year is going to be extra special

Kimberly J. Brown, who played Marnie, often visits the site and made an announcement that not only will she return again this year, but that the Cromwell family will be joining her.

Judith Hoag, who played the mother, Gwen, and J. Paul Zimmerman, who played the brother, Dylan, are confirmed to be joining Brown. Emily Roeske, who played little sister Sophie, has not been confirmed yet but is trying hard to attend.

They will come together to honor the late Debbie Reynolds during the pumpkin lighting ceremony. Reynolds played Grandma Aggie.

Brown announced the news on her YouTube page stating,

“This year we wanted to do something extra-special. Unfortunately, late last year we lost the incomparable Debbie Reynolds, who played Grandma Aggie. And while I was so sad, I was also happy for her that she was at peace with her daughter Carrie, whom she loved so much. … We wanted to do a special tribute to her and her role as Grandma Aggie and have a small monument set up there for her. So we’re going to do that this year during the lighting ceremony.”

The tribute to Debbie Reynolds and the jack-o-lantern lighting ceremony will take place on October 14, 2017, but there are Halloween-themed events planned throughout the month of October.
