It would seem as though horror movies are becoming quite popular in the world, given the fact that both Friday the 13th: The Game and Dead by Daylight are still among the most bought online games for both Xbox One and PS4. Now, horror and gamer fans… we have a new game that will be coming out for you!
Paranormal Activity is already creepy enough as a movie, now imagine it coming to the video game world… in VR!
Development studio VRWERX is gearing up to release its Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul VR game on the PlayStation VR. The developers finally revealed the official release date for the title: August 15th.
That news comes from IGN. The outlet is reporting that VRWERX has locked in a date after certification has taken place and that PlayStation 4 gamers can expect to get their hands on Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul.
The game is a horror adventure set within a woodsy (why does it gotta be in the woods!) neighborhood where you have to explore a seemingly abandoned home and discover the mystery that lies inside the house. Without fluffing up what the actual experience is, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul is basically a horror walking simulator. You’ll use a flashlight and explore the house for clues, attempting to unravel the mystery while things go bump in the night.
The game has a sort of supernatural force lurking about, and while the game is based on the widely popular Paranormal Activity movie series, it’s plot does not follow any of the actual movies. The game follows a completely original story.
At the moment, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul is in Early Access over on Steam for $39.99.
The critical feedback for the Early Access version of the game is quite similar to that of both the Friday the 13th: The Game early viewers. It has its fair share of glitches and rare crashes, resulting in it getting a negative review. These problems can easily be resolved with a simple patch, and the developers are definitely working on those.
