Watch the Moving Animated Short That Has the Internet Reaching for the Tissues

Yesterday morning, filmmakers Beth David and Esteban Bravo from the Ringling College of Art and Design uploaded their animated short titled In a Heartbeat to YouTube and since then it has gone completely viral.  It’s a heartwarming tale about young teenage love and it has been giving everyone on the internet all of the feels.

The four minute long silent short tells the story of a young boy’s heart who takes matters into his own hands and leaps out of his chest when the boy is too scared to talk to his crush, for fear of being outed.

People immediately resonated with the short’s message, which is further heightened by its touching and poignant score done by Arturo Cardelús and Nick Ainsworth. There have already been a number of people creating fan art and sharing the video on social media, further cementing that there is a real lacking of these stories in major animation studios. In a Heartbeat’s inclusivity and message are truly inspiring a lot of people. Here are some example!
