Cyber Incident Breaches HBO, Leaks Unreleased ‘Game of Thrones’ Scripts
Another example of spoiling gone bad. Really bad.
According to wired, several entertainment journalists received the same email Monday, which included unreleased scripts for upcoming unaired Game of Thrones episodes Ballers, Insecure, Room 104, and Barry.
Apparently the breach email subject read ““1.5 TB of HBO data just leaked!!!”
HBO chairman apparently notified employees with the following email. “There has been a cyber incident directed at the company which has resulted in some stolen proprietary information, including some of our programming,”
Along with a link to scripts from Game of Thrones, the email included private contact information for high ups at HBO.
Nobody knows why the hackers sent the email, and so far everything seems to still be under wraps. As entertainment journalists ourselves, the last thing we want to do is spoil shows for viewers, so we assume that the outlets will keep the information on lockdown.
