Steven Soderbergh is finally back and rearing to go with his directorial return this summer with the all- American heist film, Logan Lucky. With a script written by Rebecca Blunt, the film stars Channing Tatum and Adam Driver as brothers, who enlist Daniel Craig to plan a multi-million dollar robbery during NASCAR’s biggest racing event of the year.

The new footage in the promotional teaser see’s Soderbergh using the same fast paste comedic conventions that made us fall in love with the Ocean’s Eleven films. Since his hiatus, Logan Lucky appears to act as an invigorating return to his quirky filmmaking.
The official synopsis of the film goes as the following:
“The Logan’s are a blue-collar family from the hills of West Virginia, and their clan has been famous for its bad luck for nearly 90 years. But the conniving Jimmy Logan (Channing Tatum) decides it’s time to turn the family’s luck around, and with a little help from his friends, the Redneck Robbers, he plans to steal $14 million from the Charlotte Motor Speedway on the busiest race day of the year.
A heist movie with a difference: Steven Soderbergh, the director of the Ocean’s Eleven trilogy and an A-list cast including Channing Tatum, Daniel Craig and Adam Driver deliver a smart, thrilling and funny blue-collar story of an audacious multi-million dollar robbery.”
Logan Lucky starring Riley Keough, Katherine Waterston, Katie Holmes, Seth MacFarlane, Sebastian Stan and Hillary Swank hits theatres August 18 (US) and August 25 (UK).
