‘COLONY’: Network teases fans with new revelations, old mysteries

Fans of Colony were recently treated to some new reveals about season 3 and challenged to find answers still waiting for them in season 2.

USA Network recently posted new intel on the Colony website that was gleaned from the recent Colony Panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Click here for the full post and read on for the highlights of what the network had to share.

The Colony panel was comprised of lead actors Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies as well as fan favorites Peter Jacobson and Tory Kittles. Also chiming in were storyline creatives Carlton Cuse, Ryan Condal, and Wes Tooke.

We’re not in Kansas, I mean Los Angeles, anymore

Not only is production of the series leaving Los Angeles for the bright lights of Vancouver, but the storyline will now take viewers outside the Los Angeles colony that fans have come to know so well. We saw the onset of this move at the end of season 2 when the Bowmans and Snyder pleaded their case and were ultimately allowed to leave the bloc.

Fans breathed a brief sigh of relief as the group drove away. But why so short? Snyder quickly and slyly pressed a tracker button reminding viewers that you never really know what the former Proxy’s motives are.

Now we wait to find out where they are headed and who they will encounter.

It’s not a bird, not a plane, not a RAP spaceship

Artwork was revealed at the SDCC Colony panel showing drones and an unfamiliar aircraft. Fans were advised that the unknown spaceship does not belong to the RAPs. So who else is in this fight? Creators teased the phrase “the enemy of my enemy” suggesting that there is a third party fighting our unknown hosts.

Attendees of SDCC were than tasked with finding a particular GPS location and delivering the teaser phrase in order to receive an autographed poster of the new Colony artwork.

Expect big things from Bram in season 3

The revelations also included intel that the character of Bram Bowman will be playing a particularly large role in season 3. Season 2 returned Charlie to the Bowman fold while Bram was sent to a labor camp for a large part of the sophomore season before being rescued by none other than Alan Snyder.

But Bram did not return to his family with completely open arms. He secretly joined the Redhands, an extremely volatile and deadly resistance movement. While Bram is physically with his family at season’s end, we are still not sure where his loyalties truly lie. It definitely sounds like we are about to learn even more about the eldest Bowman sibling in Colony season 3.

New answers and unsolved mysteries

Panel attendees learned that viewers will get more answers when season 3 arrives, in particular, the mystery surrounding both Eric Broussard’s and Will Bowman’s safety from the hosts’ drones. Both characters have come face to face with these “eyes in the sky” and were left unscathed. It’s not like we are complaining! Fans love these two guys, but we want to know what is keeping them safe from drone attack.

It sounds like fans can count on the answers to keep coming in season 3. Several outstanding questions were explained in the premiere episode of season 2. Only time will tell how early in season 3 we will get new reveals.

On the flipside, apparently fans have missed some answers the show actually gave us in season 2 according to co-creator Ryan Condal. That’s hard to believe since Colony has an extremely dedicated and savvy fan base. Nevertheless, Mr. Condal has tasked fans with finding these extra clues from season 2.

One of Colony‘s superfans, Wendy Del Monte of ColonyInvasion.com, issued a formal challenge to fellow fans recently on Twitter.

So, let’s get to it!

Colony turned up the heat in the Los Angeles Colony during season 2. So much so that Snyder and the Bowmans knew they had to leave. Where will they end up next? And, of course, there is the not so little matter of Broussard not being with them. I cannot wait to see what season 3 has in store for us!
