SDCC: New Animated Series Coming to CW Seed DC’s Freedom Fighters: The Ray

A new animated series is coming to CW Seed and features a much darker look at the CW Multiverse. In this universe, the Nazi’s won World War II and a group of heroes that includes the Ray, Black Condor, Phantom Lady, and the Human Bomb is standing up to the regime. The trailer premiered at SDCC gives us a look at what our heroes are in store for, and it’s not so good as they go up against evil versions of Green Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl.
The animation style is similar to that of CW Seed’s other Arrow-verse series, Vixen. Several of our favorite live action heroes transitioned to the animated world in Vixen and I’m kind of hoping that we might see some more Third Reich version of characters. Our new heroes look pretty cool. I don’t know much about those introduced in the trailer and can’t wait to watch the series when it airs. Since it was mostly action, there’s not much to say about them in way of characterization, but I’m sure they’ll be awesome.
Freedom Fighters: The Ray will arrive on CW Seed in the fall.
