David Spade Channels George Michael and Wham! in ‘Lip Sync Battle’ Preview

We’ve seen him as Joe Dirt, as Tommy Boy‘s best friend, and even as Emperor Kuzco in The Emperor’s New Groove but, we can pretty much guarantee you’ve never seen David Spade this like before!  This week, Spade will take to the Lip Sync Battle stage to duke it out against model Nina Agdal.

It looks like Spade is pulling out all the stops in the first preview for the upcoming episode.  He will be taking on the classic song Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!  Spade is all decked out in a George Michael-style wig, lots of self-tanner or bronzer and a white t-shirt with neon, black light responsive lettering which reads, “Choose Spade,” reminiscent of George Michael’s “Choose Life,” shirt which he wore in the original video.

The big reveal, however, comes when two of the backup dancers rip off Spades tear-away pants to reveal a true George Michael nod, the dual color neon shorts!  Fans of Wham! and of George Michael, in general, will certainly remember these styles from back in the day.

Spade seems to do a pretty decent job in the short, 35-second preview teaser.  We can’t wait to see the full performance!  Check out Spade rockin’ the neon in the preview clip from Lip Sync Battle below and, just for fun, we’ve included Wham!’s video for the song as well.  You know, so you can compare.

You can catch Spade’s full performance this Wednesday, July 19th at 10 pm EST on Spike!
