Daniel Radcliffe Helps a London Tourist Who Had Just Been Mugged
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe may not have magical powers in real life, however, he is being hailed as a real life hero for his actions last week.
According to The Evening Standard, Radcliffe was walking through London on Friday when thieves who were attempting to rob an unsuspecting tourist of his Louis Vuitton bag slashed the victim in the face before speeding off on their moped. Radcliffe, as well as others within the area, reportedly stopped to help the victim after the attack.
Multiple outlets picked up the news story and reached out to Radcliffe’s publicists for confirmation. Though no detail was given, a representative for the actor did confirm to multiple sources that Radcliffe was, in fact, at the scene, but they declined to comment further as the situation is still an open police investigation.
Metropolitan police released a statement, saying, “The victim — a man aged in his 50s — was walking in the road when two people riding a moped snatched his bag before riding off. The victim suffered a cut to the face during the incident.”
Former police officer David Videcette was in the area and told The Evening Standard that he saw Radcliffe coming to the aid of the tourist. Videcette said: “It was a bit of the surreal moment, I said, ‘you’re Daniel Radcliffe,’ and he replied ‘I am.’ He was a really nice bloke, a lot of stars wouldn’t have stopped to help.”
Way to go, Daniel Radcliffe! Rushing to the aid of those in need is truly a heroic act! 50 points to Gryffindor!
