Assassin’s Creed Animated Series in Development at Netflix

Ahead of the release of Castlevania on Netflix, producer Adi Shankar announced via Facebook that he has been tapped to develop an Assassin’s Creed animated series. The show will be an original story set within the world of the video games.

It is hard to take a video game that takes 30+ hours to play through and develop it for the big screen. There just isn’t enough time to get the same depth as you get when playing. Which is why most video game adaptations are just not as good. But in a television series, there’s all the time in the world. I’m glad that Assassin’s Creed will be getting the series treatment because it is such a vast and intriguing series. The recent film adaptation was okay, but again, there just wasn’t enough time to really get the story right. Plus in an animated setting, the series can go all out on the action.

With the positive reviews for Castlevania rolling, I have faith that Shankar will do justice to the video game.
