This Is Us Promotes the ‘Pearson Kids’ to Series Regulars

Fans of This Is Us have a lot of reasons to celebrate, especially as the second season debut, happening on September 26th, draws closer. There are some changes in the cast being made and while we’ve not heard of anyone new joining so far, we do know that some actors and actresses are being promoted to cast regulars.

For starters, Jon Huertas who plays Miguel and Alexandra Breckenridge who plays Sophie have been added as cast regulars for season 2 – and there’s a lot more where that came from. News broke just days ago that the ‘younger versions’ of the Big 3 will be added on as full-time cast members.

Hanna Zeile who plays teenage Kate, Niles Fitch who plays teenage Randall, Logan Shroyer who plays teenage Kevin, Mackenzie Hancsicsak who plays young Kate and Parker Bates who plays young Kevin have joined the roster. Randall’s daughters, Faithe Herman who plays Annie and Eris Baker who plays Tess will be getting more screen time as well.

The only kid not being added as a series regular is Lonnie Chavis who plays young Randall and it’s only due to his contract obligations for the upcoming Showtime comedy White Famous.

This has fans looking forward to what that means for the storyline. We’ll get to know more about the characters we love now by finding out who they were and what they experienced as they grew up. While the series does a great job of showing that already, it’ll be a different focus as the series gears up for it’s confirmed season 2 and 3.

We also hope to see a lot more of Jack interacting with the kids before they had to learn how to grow up without him.

What are you most hoping to see in season 2? Let us know.
