‘Arrow’: Stephen Amell hopes Season 6 Mirrors the ‘Green Arrow’ Comics

Who doesn’t love a spectacular comic book series? Aside from the entertaining storyline and the beautiful illustrations there is one thing about comic books that we at Fan Fest fall in love with, in particular; the characters.

It never ceases to amaze me that all these different characters have such incredible backstories, in addition to their own quirks and personality trait. One character in particular who possesses the perfect balance of humor, action and adventure is none other than Oliver Queen aka The Green Arrow.

The last season on the CW hit TV series Arrow, we wound up ending with an extremely emotional and drastic cliffhanger. This has been leaving fans hanging with one major question: Who is still alive?

Bottom line, there’s no telling, nor clear guarantee as to who will make it out alive when the Season 6 premiere airs in October.

One thing that we do know for sure is that the events of Season 5 are going to weigh heavily on our favorite Mayor moving forward. In a recent panel at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Portland, Stephen talked about how he wants his character to become more like his DC Comics counterpart.

“The comics version, he has some really interesting qualities that make him unique, and I hope we get to explore more of those,” Amell stated.

“I’ve said that it’s very, very important that if Oliver doesn’t take away lessons from Season 5 and doesn’t keep doing the things that have led to this catastrophic event, the character stops being interesting to me. So I hope that part of that, in Season 6 and if we have seasons beyond that, I hope that part of that is we get back to a lot of the tenets that people recognize from the comics. And that of course is humor and a socially conscious, slightly liberal superhero.”

Arrow’s sixth season debuts on The CW on October 12th.
