Who’s The Young Girl In War for the Planet of the Apes

After seeing all these intense trailers for War For The Planet Of The Apes, the one question that might be on your mind is, “Who’s the young girl?”

Her name is Nova and we see that Maurice, the Orangutan, becomes attached to her and knows he can’t leave her. She also never talks. Now, if you’re a fan of the old Planet of the Apes films, with the legendary Charlton Heston, you’ll know that there was a mute girl named Nova, played by Linda Harrison. This young girl is that character (as confirmed by Entertainment Weekly)! Which is an awesome nod to the original films. From this featurette we see that Nova has a real innocence and calm demeanor and she is hailed as one of us by Caesar. It’s going to be emotionally impactful seeing Nova as a young girl caught up in a world with apes and a war with humans. Catch the film in theaters on July 14th and let us know what you think about this featurette and the connection to the old films in the comments section below.
