Tryangle’s Fan-Made Film ‘Voldemort: Origins of the Heir’ Gets the Green Light from Warner Bros.

Copyright laws and infringement are a very real and very common problem today facing fan made films that are based on existing stories.  Once a production starts to look “too professional” or, if there is some type of profit involved, a fan made film involving a copyrighted story or character can have some serious problems on its hands from the original production company.  In most cases, a film like that would be shut down, never to be completed or seen by any one but, that’s not going to be the case with Tryangle’s Voldemort: Origins of the Heir!

Tryangle's Fan-Made Film 'Voldemort: Origins of the Heir' Gets the Green Light from Warner Bros. The independent film studio released a kick ass movie trailer about a week ago for their fan made origin film about how Voldemort actually came to be.  The film will take an look at the early years of Tom Marvolo Riddle, before he transforms into “he who must not be named” (aka. Voldemort) as seen through the eyes of Grisha Mac Laggen (the heir of Gryffindor).  You can check out the trailer HERE.  The footage is really quite remarkable!

Previously, the indie studio had run into some issues as they were planning to fund the film using a Kickstarter campaign.  The campaign was cancelled but, thanks to the buzz surrounding the trailer, the impressive fan made film has actually caught the eye of Warner Bros. Pictures, once again.  Gianmaria Pezzata, director for the Tryangle, told Polygon:

“We had a private and confidential discussion with Warner Bros who contacted us during the period of the crowdfunding campaign.  The only thing we can say is that they let us proceed with the film, in a non profit way, obviously.”

The Voldemort origin film is going to be made afterall!  Tryangle agreeing to take the film through the non-profit route is probably what saved this production and, finally, fans will get to see what’s hopefully another awesome story about how the Harry Potter universe began!  Tryangle is about to enter post-production on the film and hopes to release it, for FREE, online before the end of 2017.

So, what do you think of Voldemort: Origins of the Heir receiving the blessing from Warner Bros.?  Will you be watching this film when it’s released online?  Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
