Floriana Lima Won’t Return as a Series Regular for Season Three of Supergirl

It has been announced that Floriana Lima, who portrayed Detective Maggie Sawyer during the second season of Supergirl, will not continue as a series regular. She will continue to appear on the show, but will have a much smaller role. Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement, “Although she’s not available to us as a series regular next season, as she’s looking to pursue other opportunities, we’re happy she’ll be returning for multiple episodes in Season 3.”

This is surprising news since the last we saw of Maggie, she was being proposed to by Alex. We didn’t really get an answer from Maggie, just a smile, but I took that to mean yes. What does this mean for the fan favorite couple? Lima tweeted her response to the news Friday and included the hashtag, “NotOverYet.” Chyler Leigh, who plays Alex, chimed in with “#SanversLivesOn.”

What do you think this means for Alex and Maggie next season?
