Throughout the years, the DC Cinematic Universe has gone through it’s ups and downs. As of late, reviews for the films have been extremely scattered ranging from ‘what are the writers thinking’ to ‘that movie was pretty awesome!’.
Regardless of what films may have been put out by DC in the past, one film that comic fans are highly looking forward to is the Justice League film. The superhero team-up has always been one that was highly appreciated when it came to the comics, and expectations for this movie are extremely high.
Unfortunately, due to some very dire personal issues, Justice League director Zack Snyder stepped away from the film so that he could focus on being there for his family. Joss Whedon has since stepped in to finish Zack’s film, and he plans to finish the vision that Zack had planned out for this film.
During the Wonder Woman premiere, in an interview with Variety, DCEU producer Charles Roven was asked about Zack Snyder’s emergency departure from Justice League‘s production. It’s here where we learned how Joss Whedon took over, with Roven revealing:
He was already working with us on some of the scenes for that additional photography that we’re going to be doing shortly. It was fortunate that Zack convinced him, and he agreed to step in and finish the movie — to help Zack finish his vision. We’re excited about that.
Joss Whedon has been pretty on point when it comes to directing superhero team up films, so together the work of both him and Zack will truly make this film amazing. Even though this director change came about due to an extremely unfortunate tragedy, Zack wanted to make this exchange personal. Rather than have the studio approach Whedon about picking up the film, Snyder wanted to personally approach his fellow director himself.
Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon’s Justice League will arrive in theaters on November 17, 2017.
