National Wine Day – Watch these 5 Movies with a Glass of Wine

Today is National Wine Day and we have to admit that it’s not a date we have marked on our calendars or anything. However, when we found out that today was a day to celebrate wine, we immediately jumped on board.

The great thing about wine is that there are flavors and colors for everyone. From Red to White and Dry to Sweet, wines with grape bases and wines with strawberry; the list goes on and on. As a matter of fact, you could spend all day at a winery and likely still not experience all of the flavors.

There are also wines that best pair with certain foods. Anything Italian is perfect with wine, but you can also have a glass with a nice marinated chicken or even a good steak. There is no better time, however, to have a glass of wine than when you’re sitting down to watch a movie. Either by yourself or with your best friends; it’s a good of a pairing as movies and popcorn.

So while your favorite celebrities are posting photos on social media with the hashtag #NationalWineDay in vineyards and on their back porches with those endless lookout pools that we have mapped out for our own dream homes, we put together a list of movies for you to watch this evening with your own favorite glass. Oh, and we paired them with one of our favorite quotes from each movie…we may have gone a bit romantic.

5. Titanic – with a glass of Pinot Noir

I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it.

4. Legally Blonde – with a glass of Chardonnay

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.

3. One Day – with a glass of Gewurztraminer

I need to speak to someone. Not someone – you.

2. The Wedding Planner – with a glass of Rieslings

I barely know you. I don’t know your dad’s first name, I don’t know if you ever wore braces, or contacts or glasses and I have no idea how you came to be a wedding planner, Mary. But I do know the curves of your face. And I know every fleck of gold in your eyes. I know that the night at the park was the best time I’ve ever had.’

1. The Notebook – with a glass of Merlot

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that’s what you’ve given me.

One additional film that pairs great with wine? Everything, Everything – so if your theater serves alcohol as well, tonight’s a perfect excuse to go see a new film.
