New ‘Despicable Me 3’ Trailer: Gru Goes Back to his Villainous Roots

Is Gru going back to his criminal roots?  Illumination Entertainment released a brand new trailer on Wednesday for Despicable Me 3 and it certainly looks like Gru is up to no good!

Gru (played by Steve Carell) reunites with his long lost, blond haired twin brother Dru (also played by Steve Carell).  Upon meeting, Dru tries to convince Gru to continue the family business which, basically, is a life of crime.  Though Gru has sworn off villainy, Dru convinces him to come to the dark side once more.  Of course, hilarity and chaos ensue along with lots and lots of minion cameos!

The trailer is actually pretty adorable and has it’s funny parts.  I’ll admit, I laughed at the minions towel snapping a prison inmate.  All in all, Despicable Me 3 looks to be entertaining for both children and adults alike.  Check out the trailer below:

Check out the official description from Youtube regarding the film:

The team who brought you Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, returns to continue the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions. Despicable Me 3, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, will be released in theaters on June 30, 2017.

The animated film is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud.

Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.

Despicable Me 3 will hit theaters on June 30th, 2017.  Are you excited?
