‘American Horror Story’ New Season Details and Release Date

With season 7 of American Horror Story fast approaching fans of the show are wanting more details as to what we can expect from this year’s anthology by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

Here is what we do know:

We know that the next season will be covering the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He confirmed it himself on a recent appearance on Watch What Happens L!VE with Andy Cohen. He stated that he did not have a title but it will be about our recent election and that there is a possibility that there will be a “Trump-like” character.

We  have recently seen some new concept art released. The image resembles an elephant. Whether it is someone wearing a grotesque mask or a character with a deformity, remains to be seen. You would have to be living under a rock to not know that the official Republican logo is an elephant.

According to Murphy, neither Trump or Clinton will be actual characters in the new storyline. He does confirm that the premiere’s first 10 minutes will feature actual footage from election night and will contain the real-life Clinton and Trump.

“The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there’s something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they’re watching it all go down. Which in itself was a horror story, so it’s like a horror story upon a horror story.”

As for Season 7 cast, we have already confirmed the return of Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. Although, infomation came out that Paulson would love the challenge of playing Trump and Peters volunteering to play Ivanka Trump, there has been no official confirmation as to their roles.

We also know that Scream Queens alum Billie Lourd along with newcomer Billy Eichner of Billy on the Street fame will be joining the series.

'American Horror Story' New Season Details and Release Date
FOX

As for an official release date, AHS usually premieres in early October and has a 12 episode run. Season 6 was the first season that had only a 10 episode run. It also premiered in mid-September. The reason most likely being due to FX and Murphy’s attention being geared towards 2016’s American Crime Story. With it’s second season also premiering this year, chances that the amount of episodes and its premiere date may be close to that of season 6. At this point, there is nothing official but sources are guessing that season 7 should premiere Wednesday, Sptember 13, 2017.

Lastly, Murphy has explicitly stated that season 7 will revisit characters who ‘presumably’ survived Season 4.

“Next year, we will be going back to some ‘Freak Show’ characters, deeper histories and myhthologies. So we’re sort of still exploring season 4 in season 7.”

Season 7 of American Horror Story will premiere in the fall on FX.
