Today, the official trailer for Blade Runner 2049 was released, but last week, a pair of posters showing Ryan Gosling as LAPD Officer K and Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard were made public as well.
Gosling’s poster has him walking through foggy misty streets and Ford’s poster shows him walking through ruins while brandishing a gun. Both seem to be in contrast to one another. Check them out below.
Denis Villenueve, who directed Arrival and the upcoming Dune reboot, also takes charge of the sequel which takes place 30 years after the original. Gosling plays a new blade runner that uncovers information that has the potential to force whatever is left of the dystopian world into chaos. Deckard has been missing, or maybe hiding for some time, but K’s discovery sends him in search for him.
“It’s a continuation of the story, so if you’re a fan of the original film, it takes the original story and sort of follows that through. It’s the same iconic universe, but it’s changed over the course of the 30-year gap. It’s a lot more bleak in some ways. The director describes it as toxic. But it’s still the Blade Runner universe.” ~ Ryan Gosling
As stated before, Warner Bros. released the official trailer this morning. To read a full story and watch the trailer, CLICK HERE!
