Niall Horan Releases Second Single ‘Slow Hands’

Niall Horan just released the follow-up single to his solo debut ‘This Town’ and fans are already obsessed with the tune. It’s got a different sound from his first song, it’s a little more raw, a little gritty, and a little more mature. ‘This Town’ is a hit, don’t get us wrong, but ‘Slow Hands’ is a jam – and there’s a big difference.

Niall is setting the tone with his solo career, and while some listeners of not just Niall’s solo project, but each of the members of One Direction’s solo work (sans Liam, who is said to be putting his first song out soon) are surprised at their maturity, most fans are not.

As the band grew up and desired to be seen as more than an engineered boyband, they took risks (as many as they could under strict management) to make their sound more adult. Songs like ‘Stockholm Syndrome’, ‘No Control’, and ‘Never Enough’ – to name a few – show signs of that.

Now, with the band on hiatus, Niall is taking his songwriting process and making it totally his own and ‘Slow Hands’ is the perfect song for his second single. Just read some of these lyrics.

We should take this back to my place
that’s what she said right to my face
‘Cause I want you so bad
yeah I want you, baby
I’ve been thinking about it all day
and I hope you feel the same way, yeah
‘Cause I want you bad
yeah I want you, baby

Slow, slow hands
like sweat dropping down our dirty laundry
No, no chance
that I’m leaving here without you on me
I, I know
yeah I already know that there ain’t no stopping
your plans, and those slow hands
Slow hands…’

The song itself sounds wonderful too. The guitar is gorgeous, it’s something that sets a tone, and Niall’s vocals highlight that and complete the total package. Niall has been taking time writing his album, working on it in the studio, and making sure he can be proud of the compilation of songs before he introduces them to his fans.

While we wait on the rest of the album, you can give ‘Slow Hands’ a listen below.
