Pickle Juice Soda Pop is a real thing. Seriously.
Amidst the recent craze of fancy, schmancy frozen drinks like the Unicorn Frappuccino or the Dragon Frappuccino, a new (and bizarre) beverage trend has emerged and, it’s basically the complete opposite of the ones we just mentioned.
A small chain store, with locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, called Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop is touting a new pickle juice flavored soda pop. The soda is made with cane sugar and dill pickle brine. It comes in 12-ounce glass bottles and costs $2.50, in store, per bottle or, it can be ordered online for $10 from the shop’s website.
Of course, the internet immediately reacted to the thought of a pickled flavored soda and, well, the response was pretty sour:
So now you can buy Pickle Juice Soda

Pickle juice soda is one of humanity’s biggest atrocities. The only larger atrocity would have to be PICKLES themselves. Nasty

You know what they say, pickle haters are going to hate! Despite the backlash, we are sure there is a strong following of pickle loving folk that will embrace the new soda. In fact, one YouTuber actually reviewed the drink (as well as a butter flavored soda!!) and, he didn’t absolutely hate it. Check it out:
As a super pickle fan and as a past attendee of ‘PickleFest in NYC’, a festival completely devoted to all things pickle flavored or made with pickle as an ingredient, I would absolutely LOVE to try this and just may have to make a trip to Pennsylvania in order to give it a whirl.
What are your thoughts about this pickle soda? What about the butter flavored one? Would you drink either one of these concoctions? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
