‘Arrow’: Stephen Amell Talks Oliver’s Return to Lian Yu
This season on Arrow, it looks as though we are going to be coming full circle. Lian Yu is where it all started, and apparently where it is all going to be ending as well. As the fifth season finale of Arrow is quick on the approach, Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow are going to have to pull out all the stops to stop the diabolical Adrian Chase.
Prometheus has really given Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow a run for their money. Not only did he ‘break’ the team by convincing Evelyn Sharp to betray her team, but he’s broken Oliver in ways we have never seen him broken before. As a result, Oliver is going to have to do the unpredictable. We already know, based off of upcoming previews, that he is recruiting his sworn enemy; Deathstroke.
In a recent interview with EW, Stephen Amell stated that this season has focused on Oliver’s history as well as his allies and their relationships. Also, even though he’s been trying to leave the vigilante life behind, his friends and teammates might not be there for him when he needs them most when they return to Lian Yu.
“One of the things that will surprise us is why he goes and the amount of people who will be there, This whole year has been built around Oliver returning on a team, but what happens when Oliver’s team isn’t there for him and he still needs a team?”
My guess is that perhaps either Nyssa Al Ghul or Malcom Merlyn may accompany Oliver when he returns to Lian Yu, to gather up Slade Wilson… and possibly Captain Boomerang. (I mean… he’s already there and Oliver needs all the help he can get, right?)
Arrow will return when ‘Underneath’ airs on Wednesday, May 3 2017 at 8p EST on the CW.
