Disney’s ‘Mulan’ Remake has Twitter in an Uproar

Ever since Disney announced that they are going to remake the animated tale, fans have been anxiously awaiting more details. Will it be just like the original or will they make some changes?

Well. There aren’t going to be any songs. Well no one knows that .

Now before you get all upset like Twitter already has, the film says that they are emphasizing action and female empowerment. It’ll also get down to the roots of the story. Mulan is a Chinese legend and the film is working closely with collaborators in China.

Mulan is clearly an empowered-female story but we can also do something new in this reimagining, make it a little more muscular, stronger, with touch of Ridley Scott,” said Sean Bailey, president of motion picture production at Disney.

But director Niki Caro hasn’t made up her mind about singing. At first she said no and that her own children were even disappointed, now she’s changing her tune and saying “We’ve never talked about songs, and no decision has been made.”

Seems a little wishy washy for a film to be released next November, but that’s just me. Maybe she’ll change her mind on this other detail that has Twitter outraged.

A casting call was released for a young man, who resembles Captain Li Shang, but is marked as Mulan’s enemy turned possible love-interest. What?
