WATCH: Emma Watson Singing as Belle in the Latest Clip from ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is Making Us All Nostalgic
Each clip and preview that we get from Disney’s new, live-action version of Beauty and the Beast is making us more and more excited for this film to be released in theaters.
When it was first announced that Harry Potter star Emma Watson would be playing the role of Belle, the reaction was mixed as to whether or not she would be able to pull off the classic role. In this newest clip, Watson appears as the perfect embodiment of the beloved character while singing the song Belle from the animated film.
Recently, Watson revealed that she had previously passed on the part of Cinderella, before she even knew of the potential role of Belle. Watson felt more connected to the character of Belle and the role really resonated with her. She said:
“When they offered me Belle, I just felt the character resonated with me so much more than Cinderella did. She remains curious, compassionate, and open-minded and, that’s the kind of woman I would want to embody as a role model, given the choice.”
So far, we think she’s nailed it! Her voice is sweet and strong. Her performance, from what we’ve seen so far, is flawless and we think she makes a perfect Belle!
Check out the lasted clip from the upcoming live-action version of Beauty and the Beast below. The film hits theaters in less than a month on March 17th.
