Are you ready, Game of Thrones fans? Could Tyrion Lannister be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe?!
Ok, so, maybe that will never happen but, Variety has exclusively revealed that Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage is in very early talks regarding a key role in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War film.
According to Variety, since shooting of the upcoming season of Game of Thrones was moved to the fall (rather than its normal summer shooting schedule), Dinklage’s schedule allows him some freedom for other projects; in this case, the upcoming Avengers films. Infinity War and its untitled sequel are expected to shoot back-to-back in early summer of 2017 so, sources have indicated that Dinklage, if all goes well, would be expected to be featured in both films.
The films will see the return of familiar stars such as Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans and, if a deal is finalized, Dinklage would be one of the few new cast members added to the franchise.
Personally, we are 100% on board with anything that has involvement from Peter Dinklage and, we hope these “early talks” blossom into a full-on official contract and announcement.
Currently, Avengers: Infinity War has a release date of May 4, 2018.
