‘Arrow’: Enter Talia Al Ghul

Alright my fellow ‘Arrow’ fans, now that we have passed through the Holidays, it is time for us to get ready for some of our favorite shows to return from their winter hiatus. Let’s take a moment to think back to Season 3 of the hit CW tv series Arrow. Season 3 was when we were first officially introduced to the big bad, Ra’s Al Ghul. In Season 2, we had met his daughter Nyssa. Now… be prepared to meet another member of the Al Ghul family. Talia Al Ghul will soon be making her appearance on the show when the series returns on January 25th, and apparently she may know the true identity of Prometheus.

Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig) will have a “crucial part” in the inevitable reveal of Prometheus, the hooded vigilante who would appear to be Oliver’s greatest opponent yet.

In the Season 5 mid-season finale of Arrow mystery of Laurel Lance was quickly solved when sneak peaks revealed that she may be a doppelganger (thanks Barry). One mystery and speculation that hasn’t settled with fans is that What hasn’t ceased is speculation on the identity of Prometheus, who has yet to be revealed but totally will as the show progresses. Now, somehow, Talia al Ghul will be involved in how Prometheus is revealed.

Talia, a popular comic book character who is famously the mother of Batman’s son Damian, will be the second daughter of Ra’s al Ghul to appear on Arrow. Her younger sister Nyssa (Katrina Law) appeared for a multiple seasons.

But this won’t be the first time have have seen Talia in the CW’s Arrowverse. In Season 1 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow last year, Milli Wilkinson played a young Talia al Ghul in 1960, where she trained under Sara Lance.

Executive Producer, Wendy Mericle, certainly hyped up the Arrow fan base in a recent interview with TVLine:

“Seeing Laurel is a very welcome surprise for Oliver. But there will be… whatever the reverse of a ‘silver lining’ is… when he finds out what’s really going on. It will have a lot of emotional resonance, particularly for him and Felicity.”

She also touched on how Billy’s death will affect Felicity for the remainder of the season:

“On top of that is the “significant fallout” of Malone’s murder, a tragic accident that steers Felicity to “a darker place” as she sets her own sights on Prometheus. That, coupled with the question of the Big Bad’s identity, “is a gift that keeps on giving for the rest of the season,”

And if you were curious as to what happened to our favorite Soldier, John Diggle, WM also had this to say:

“Elsewhere, Diggle emerges from his latest imprisonment with a much bigger drive, and not the same fatalism that he had earlier in the season.  He’s going to come up against Colonel Walkeras well as grow closer to Adrian Chase. Among new faces, Talia al Ghul plays a “crucial part” in unraveling the Prometheus mystery, while SCPD Detective Tina Boland will form a connection with Oliver, seeing as she has been through her own hell, her own sort of ‘island.’”

It would seem as though a lot will be heading towards Star City when Arrow returns from its winter hiatus on Wednesday, January 25th at 8PM/EST on The CW.
