Legendary Actress Debbie Reynolds Dies at Age 84

Early Wednesday evening, we reported that, just one day after the death of her daughter Carrie Fisher, actress Debbie Reynolds was rushed to the hospital due to a possible stroke.  It is with great sadness that we now report, the legendary actress has died.  She was 84 years old.

Reynolds was at her son’s house in Beverly Hills on Wednesday afternoon when a call was placed to 911 requesting medical assistance.  She was rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Center where she later died.

This news comes just one day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher, who went into cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles and died a few days later.  It is believed that Reynolds and her son were discussing funeral arrangements for her daughter at the time of the incident.

“She wanted to be with Carrie,” her son Todd Fisher told the press.

Reynolds is perhaps best known for her role in the 1952 musical release of Singin’ in the Rain starring opposite Gene Kelly.  She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the musical The Unsinkable Molly Brown and was also nominated for a Tony Award in 1973 for her performance in the Broadway musical Irene.  Later in her career, Reynolds also had prominent roles in the films Mother, In & Out, and on the TV show Will and Grace.

Our thoughts go out to her family and friends during this extraordinarily difficult time of grieving.
