The rumors are swirling but before everyone runs off to nuke some chimichangas in the microwave – let’s keep it real here.
Reports are indicating that Ryan Reynolds has shot footage with Deadpool 2 director David Leitch (John Wick), but there is a major catch. While we all would love to see Wade Wilson cross paths with Logan in Hugh Jackman’s grand finale, remember that you’re probably seated right now. The scene in question is reportedly just a post-credits scene and, if we’ve learned anything about the humor involved with Deadpool, it’ll be very tongue-in-cheek and a way to get audiences riled up for Deadpool 2.
Update, 4:05pm – and Ryan Reynolds has shot down the rumor already. (Keep in mind this could be smokescreen. Still, love the reference Hugh Jackman’s character in Les Miserables!)
Sadly, not true. Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission. https://t.co/5czBmMRfY1

The X-Men Cinematic Universe is currently, for lack of better terms, a hot mess. While Days Of Future Past essentially rebooted the universe (negating the events of the first trilogy helmed by both Bryan Singer and Brett Ratner), Deadpool is in a position that has fans debating whether that film takes place in the primary X-verse or a whole other one altogether. Simon Kinberg, the gatekeeper for all things X-Men at 20th Century Fox, certainly has his work cut out to create a singular and understandable timeline going forward. With Logan set in the future, the question stands as to if Jackman’s final portrayal of Wolverine is the future from 2013’s The Wolverine or from X-Men: Apocalypse.
Oof, my head hurts. Guess we’ll all find out. Logan hits theaters on March 17, 2017.
