Christmas just got a lot more exciting thanks to the generous team at 20th Century Fox who gifted us with the very first trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant – and it is everything we hoped for and more.
The film will follow the crew of a colony ship who are in for a horrendous shock whilst embarking on a mission on a unknown planet – hopefully they have an escape plan set. Prometheus, the 2012 (sort-of) Alien prequel left many confused and somewhat disappointed. “Covenant is really going to show you who did it and why,” Scott says about the link between the films.
Released at midnight on Christmas day, the nearly three minute teaser began with a horrifying backburster sequence, and features many of the films show stopping cast, including Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo and Billy Crudup – who unfortunately is set to be the first to meet a facehugger. Also returning is Michael Fassbender who appeared in Prometheus as David the android.
Tense moments dominate the trailer which ends with another graphically violent clip: shower sex meets a fully grown xenomorph. Things are about to get super bloody.
