The Revolver Music Awards were held in New York City on December 13th at NYC’s Webster Hall. In attendance were names like Lacuna Coil, Megadeath, Anthrax, Ghost, and Periphery to present awards, be amongst their peers, and perform during the awards ceremony. The awards were available for live stream and the Revolver Magazine Twitter account live-tweeted the ceremony.
One special guest presenter during the ceremony was Norman Reedus who walked the black carpet, sat on the side of the stage, and presented Anthrax with a Revolver Music Award. Other big winners of the night were Megadeath , Ghost, Avatar, and Metallica who took home album of the year.
Norman presented Anthrax with the Innovator award during the ceremony with a nice speech about the bands 35 years together and what they’ve done to pave the way for their genre of music, as well as the impact they’ve had on music as a whole. He started off by saying being an innovator when you start out is easy, but continuing to be one is something rare. The guys of Anthrax have managed to be innovative while breaking rules and creating new ones for three and a half decades. It’s quite an accomplishment.
In addition to hanging out with one of his favorite bands all evening, he made sure to send a selfie to pal Jeffrey Dean Morgan who posted it to twitter with a big ‘F you’ – obviously missing out on the fun.
The entire cast of TWD has been smitten by Jeffrey since he joined the series but he and Norman have become incredibly close and it’s fun seeing their banter online. Norman soon returned the gesture when he put the selfie up on Instagram with an ‘up yers’ just to Jeffrey.
A full list of winners from the awards should be online soon, as should the killer performances that – from the video clips online so far – seemed to blow the roof off the place.
