‘Growing Pains’ Star Alan Thicke Dies at 69 Years Old
Alan Thicke, best known for his role as patriarch Jason Seaver on the popular 1980’s sitcom Growing Pains, has died today at the age of 69 years old. The news was originally reported by TMZ and was later confirmed by Thicke’s publicist.
Thicke was reportedly playing hockey with his 19 year old son when he suffered a heart attack. He was taken to a hospital in Burbank, CA around noon where he was pronounced. He survived by his 3 sons — Robin, Brennan and Carter and his wife, Tanya.
Over the years, Thicke has hosted many game shows and has appeared in many cameo roles, most recently appearing on This Is Us and Netflix’s Fuller House. Upon learning of the news, Bob Saget and Candace Cameron Bure of Fuller House paid tribute to via social media:
So sad is the passing of Alan Thicke. Such a good husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Rest in peace dear Alan.

In addition to his acting, Thicke was a talented musician and was responsible for composing several famous TV show theme songs such as the themes for Diff’rent Strokes, The Facts of Life and, Wheel of Fortune. Rest in Peace, Alan Thicke! You will certainly be missed!
