‘Aquaman’ Movie Gets An Official Release Date
Warner Bros. is looking to make a big splash in 2018. The studio just announced that Aquaman will officially be hitting theaters during the fall of that year.
It was initially speculated that the film would have a release date in the spring/summer of 2018 however, the studio has announced that Aquaman will splashdown into theaters on October 5, 2018.
Jason Momoa will take a break from his tomahawk hurling and will continue his run as The King of the Seven Seas and ruler of Atlantis. Momoa first appeared as Aquaman in Batman V. Superman earlier this year and will also be playing the role in the upcoming Justice League film.
The film will be directed by James Wan with Deborah and Zack Snyder executive producing. Aquaman is expected to begin shooting in Australia next year and is planned to be one of many standalone superhero films based on DC Comic characters in the upcoming years.
According to Variety, Warner Bros. has also announced “The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller, for 2018; “Shazam” for 2019; “Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher for 2020; and “Green Lantern” for 2020.
