Scott Gimple Addresses Daryl Morse Code Theory

In perhaps the most interesting theory about The Walking Dead this season, fans started speculating that Daryl was communicating with Rick through Morse Code when Negan brought his crew over to Alexandria. I backed this theory pretty quick, with the poster and eye movements, it just seemed genius. I love when shows make you think, and not directly give you all the information. I’ve heard theories of the many different things Daryl might have said from “East of Hilltop”,”6 Miles East”, and even “I’m on Easy Street and it feels so sweet”. Well prepare to be disappointed because The Walking Dead’s show runner Scott M. Gimple addressed the theory in a recent interview.

Gimple said “I heard about this on set yesterday, I would like to live in a world where Daryl Dixon residuously learns morse code and knows that Rick has an intimate knowledge of morse code, as well, and that they have practiced this with blinks. I would love that.” He added on, “I will also say that it was an incredibly sunny day, but I will say this, the fans of this show are the greatest fans that watch a television program. The stories that they tell and the things that they gleam out of it are actually really thrilling. It just excites me that they have enough faith that we have put in some labyrinth theme kind of stuff. I would love to live in a world where that was true but it also could have been a sunny day. Hazy, too, which makes it worse.”

Well.. way to ruin our day. I thought it was super fun to speculate. But to cheer you up here’s your favorite song below, it was #19 on iTunes.
