BREAKING – Brett Gelman Looks To Get ‘Strange’

Looks like Hawkins, Indiana is adding a new face to its townspeople for its second season.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the exclusive news that actor-comedian Brett Gelman has officially joined the case of Matt and Ross Duffer’s Stranger Things. Gelman will portray Murray Bauman, a journalist-turned-conspiracy theorist who lands in Hawkins while working on a cold case. Perhaps he’s looking into the disappearance of fan-fave Barb. Either way, looks like he may unearth stranger things than he’s ever seen before. (Cue the drum crash.)

Gelman’s casting comes after during a week in which he parted ways with Adult Swim, where he worked on both Brett Gelman’s Dinner In America and cult favorite Eagleheart. You can catch him in Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival in 2017 as well, which looks to be a big year for the up-and-coming actor. He previously also appeared in The Other Guys and on FX’s Married.

Gelman joins Sean Astin, Paul Reiser, Linnea Berthelsen, Sadie Sink, and Dacre Montgomery as new cast members for the second season of Stranger Things. Filming on the show is currently underway in Georgia but details on the plot are still unknown. All that fans know is that the second season will take place one year later, Eleven will be returning somehow, and Matthew Modine isn’t through pestering the likes of Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will.

Stranger Things is expected to return summer 2017 on Netflix. Season one is still available to binge all over again.
