‘Deadpool 2’: Still in Search for a New Director

It is a fact that some people are still shocked over the fact that Tim Miller will not be the director for Deadpool 2. No one expected it with such a success on the first movie. We didn’t see that one coming either! But, now that there is a spot open, there are some names popping up for the position.

Apparently, David Leitch made a strong impression on 20th Century Fox. He is the one that is the ‘clear front-runner’ according to Deadline’s sources say. But the Studio is still meeting others and Deadline’s sources say it’s Drew Goddard and Magnus Martens.

Magnus Martens is known for his work on TV shows for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Luke Cage, Power, 12 Monkeys and Banshee. He also directed a Norwegian movie called Jackpot.

Drew Goddard is known for being the executive producer for Oscar nominated The Martian, starring Matt Damon, which also landed a nomination on best adapted screenplay. He is also known for executive producing Daredevil, Lost and the upcoming The Defenders for Netflix.

David Leitch has been working as a stuntman for over 20 years and then he teamed up with Chad Stahelski to direct John Wick, starring Keanu Reeves.

If you ask me, all three are good choices. But who will match the vision of Ryan Reynolds? Apparently this was the source of friction between Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick wanted to follow the line that the first movie gave us. They didn’t want a bigger budget they just wanted to bring us humor!

Whoever Fox is taking for the job, they need to find someone that has the same vision for the second movie as they had for the first movie. I do not know how they are going to top the second movie because the first movie was AWESOME.

For now, the date still stands, Deadpool 2 will maybe hit the theatres on March 2, 2018.
