We have heard from the producers who have said Season 2 will be packed with “next-level, crazy stuff” and even cast members Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour teased and “insane” season during their panel at New York Comic Con.  Now, official news of two new cast members has been announced this week.

Joining the cast is Sadie Sink, best known for her roles on NBC’s American Odyssey as well as guest roles on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and The Americans.  Sink will be playing a new character named Max, a tough and confident pre-teen girl with a complicated and suspicious history.

Dacre Montgomery will also be joining the series as Max’s older step-brother, Billy.  Billy will be a charismatic bad boy who is sure to stir up some trouble, presumably with Nancy and Steve.  Montgomery will also be starring as the Red Ranger in the upcoming Power Rangers film.

In addition to the newly announced cast members, two original members have been promoted to series regulars.  Joe Keery, who plays Steve and Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, will now be regulars on the show for the second season.  Hopefully, this means we’ll get to explore more of what Will had experienced during his time in the Upside Down.

There is no exact release date just yet but, Season 2 will premiere on Netflix sometime during 2017.
