Chicago P.D.’s Jon Seda Joins ‘Chicago Justice’ As Series Regular
Sorry, Chicago P.D. fans: Jon Seda is departing the series after four seasons.
But don’t be too sad. The actor who plays Antonio Dawson, a detective in the Intelligence Unit headed by Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), will instead join the newest spinoff in the Chicago franchise, Chicago Justice, the third spinoff of Chicago Fire. Seda is set to reprise his character as an investigator for the District Attorney’s office and will be partnered with Lori Nagle (Joelle Carter).
Sources tell Deadline that it was showrunner Dick Wolf’s idea to have Dawson move to Justice due to his character “hitting a wall on his Intelligence beat and as a single father, he had been looking for a more stable, steady job.” There is no word as to when Seda will move to Justice, however.
Chicago Justice – which stars Phillip Winchester and Carl Weathers – is set to make its debut midseason.
How do you feel about Seda leaving Chicago P.D.? Who do you think would make a suitable replacement?
