Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner have just made their BFF title official – with new ink to prove it.

It was reported earlier this week that the Game of Thrones actors walked out of a tattoo studio appearing with what looked like matching tattoos. Turner officially showed off her fresh new ink along with her new blonde locks on the red carpet at the 2016 Emmys.

“We’ve always kind of said we wanted matching tattoos,” Turner told E! at the awards show on Sunday night. So, what did they actually decide to get permanently engraved onto their skin? One preciously simple yet completely life-changing date: “07.08.09”.

Turner explained that the tattoo – which she got inked in a peach colour due to her mother’s pleas – marks the day that both she and Williams got cast as the Stark sisters in the HBO global show. Both Turner and Williams decided to wait to go through with the tattoo process in case one of them got killed off before the final season – and we are not surprised due to the rate at which important characters die on Game of Thrones.

As for what to expect from Season 7 of Game of Thrones, Turner said, “I think fans are going to be really satisfied.”
