Ezra Miller Says ‘The Flash’ Movie Is “Fun” And “Human”
We don’t know who’s more excited to see Ezra Miller as The Flash: us or him.
“It’s a little intense for me because I get goosebumps just thinking about it,” Miller told MTV News in a recent interview. Like the majority of the Justice League, The Flash will be getting his own solo film, which is believed to have more humor than the previous ones in the DC Extended Universe.
“I think there’s just an intention to make something extremely fun and something superhuman and something deeply human. It’s the thing we’re all trying to do, but I think Rick [Famuyiwa]’s mind and his heart are in an excellent place, and his expertise as a filmmaker, as evidenced by Dope, all come together as very exciting factors to me,” said Miller.
He continued, “It’s hard when talking about Rick to not use the word ‘dope’ too many times. It’s the Brooklyn in me; dope is a big part of my vernacular.”
The actor noted as well that he and Dope actress Kiersey Clemons, who is set to play Iris West, Barry’s love interest, shared a deep chemistry during their screen test. “Kiersey is amazing. I had the opportunity to read with her and do some explorative acting in our chemistry read… the results of these experiments clearly were positive.”
Before concluding the interview, Miller praised his fellow Flash actor Grant Gustin, from the DC TV Universe, saying “He’s a boss. I can’t wait to see him, eye to eye, adrift in the Speed Force – our eyes will lock and, in that moment, we will both know the truth. What truth? I dare not say,” and gave credit to another Grant – comic book writer Grant Morrison, for helping him understand the character.
“Grant is my absolute Guruji when it comes to The Flash and the mythos of the comic book – these two-dimensional realities that we engage with in our three-dimensional world.
…There’s something about The Flash that we can relate to on a uniquely human level.“
The Flash will reportedly begin filming in London this January with a March 16, 2018 release date.
