‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Finds Its Commander Steel

The Legends are rounding up the Justice Society of America!

After announcing Nick Zano will be joining Legends of Tomorrow as Nick Heywood a.k.a Citizen Steel earlier this summer, it was announced Thursday that the series has found its Commander Steel in iZombie alum, Matthew MacCaull.

According to EW, MacCaull will be playing Henry Heywood, Sr., who in the DC Comics universe becomes Commander Steel. In the comics, Hank was in the U.S. Marine Corp prior to World War II and was then injured in an ambush led by the man who would become Baron Blitzkrieg. During surgery, his former professor added mechanized steel devices that would give him superhuman abilities. He would later join the All-Star Squadron for a brief amount of time before becoming involved with the Justice Society of America.

Commander Steel will join the likes of the newest iteration of Vixen (played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Hour Man (played by Suits Patrick J. Adams), and Dr. Mid-Nite to form the Legends version of the Justice Society of America.

Legends of Tomorrow returns for its second season Thursday, October 13 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
