First Photo of “The Walking Dead” Season 7 Revealed

After months of waiting, we are finally getting our first look at the upcoming Season 7 of The Walking Dead.  Entertainment Weekly has given us an exclusive first look at a new photo from the highly anticipated upcoming season as well as some insider intel from director/executive producer, Greg Nicotero.

First things first, we definitely have some unresolved issues with the Season 6 finale.  In an interview with EW, Nicotero assures fans that the infamous and evil cliff hanger will be resolved within the Season 7 premiere.  Nicotero confirms:

“Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode.”

Nicotero goes on to explain that we can expect The Walking Dead universe to be Negan-ized for quite some time with many more colorful rants still a head for the character:

“Negan is that kind of guy.  He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”

With this exciting news, it seems pretty fitting that the first image we get to see of Season 7 is the man himself, Negan, who is brilliantly portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.  In the photo below, Negan is seen with his favorite sidekick, a barbed wire covered wooden baseball bat named Lucille.  The smile on his face, extension of the bat and the trusty ol’ RV in the background leads us to believe this may be taken right out of a scene from the continuation of the Season 6 finale.

Could this be a shot from just moments before Negan uses one of our beloved favorite characters for batting practice?  Check out the photo below and let us know your thoughts in the comment section!
