‘Hemlock Grove’ Star Bill Skarsgard in Final Talks to Play Pennywise in ‘It’ Reboot

It hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for Warner Bros. and the production of their reboot of Stephen King’s horror classic, It however, it seems things are finally starting to move along!

After a year’s worth of creative differences which caused the film to lose its original director and leading actor, the film is now said to be in final negotiations with Bill Skarsgard (Hemlock Grove) for the iconic role of Pennywise the clown.

Tim Curry masterfully originated the role of Pennywise who, to this day, many still consider the most terrifying character in cinema history.  The film will follow a group social outcasts who, as kids, are forced to band together to face their greatest fears and the demon that lives inside the form of a child-killing clown known as Pennywise. Many years after conquering their fears and the clown, they are called back to fight him once again.

With Andres Muschietti directing, Skarsgard will be joining a cast of relatively newcomers including Jaeden Lieberher (St. Vincent), Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

The film will be split into two parts with the first film following the children’s story and the second part following the story of the adults.

It will be hitting theaters on September 8, 2017.
