‘Supernatural’ Season Finale Preview ‘Alpha and Omega’

The season finale of ‘Supernatural’ is soon upon us, and the final showdown between the Winchesters and Amara is about to go down.

Since Chuck was violently sidelined by his sister in last week’s episode, I find it hard to believe that he will be of much help in this leg of the fight. Even though the official synopsis from the CW below says he will make an important decision in this battle, how much juice could the weakened version of God yield? Will he ultimately decide she needs to die? If so, what does that mean for the rest of the world?

“Alpha and Omega” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

GOD VS. AMARA – God (guest star Rob Benedict) comes to a decision about Amara (guest star Emily Swallows) that has direct repercussions for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles). Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1123).

Looks to me like Dean is on a kamikaze mission armed with an arsenal of souls. But, before he detonates this bomb, there are a few questions I hope this finale offers up. First, what is to become of Castiel? He made a brief appearance last week when Lucifer went to Heaven to recruit the other angels, but will he survive his older, archangel brother’s invasion in his vessel? What of Crowley? Did the former King of Hell make it out of his part of the battle with Amara, alive?

Most importantly though, which one of the Winchesters will actually end up with the mark and deliver the final blow to Amara? IF they are able to deliver the final blow, that is.

The ‘Supernatural’ season finale, ‘Alpha and Omega’ airs on Wednesday, May 25 at 9/8C.
